Porte aperte al Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori

Eccoci arrivati alla metà di questo 2019. Abbiamo girato la pagina del calendario e d’un tratto ci siamo ritrovati a giugno, con l’estate che bussa alla nostra porta. Perché non festeggiare quest’evento, gradito per quanto non inaspettato, con una bella gita nella nostra verde provincia?

Dopo il successo riscosso dalla precedente apertura, il Gruppo FAI Giovani Varese riapre le porte del Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori per una serie di nuovi appuntamenti tra aprile e ottobre 2019. Il complesso alberghiero del Campo dei Fiori, infatti, opera in stile Liberty dell’architetto milanese Giuseppe Sommaruga, continua ad attrarre l’interesse di varesini, varesotti e non solo grazie al suo fascino misterioso.

Posto sulla sommità del Monte Tre Croci, il Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori osserva dall’alto la città di Varese e il suo lago sin dal 1912. Costruito per decisione della S.A.G.A.V. (Società Anonima Grandi Alberghi Varesini), la posizione del complesso alberghiero testimonia la rilevanza ricoperta dall’area varesina tra le mete turistiche dell’epoca. Il trascorrere del tempo è stato però impietoso con quest’hotel di gran lusso, che non è stato capace di resistere indenne alle due guerre mondiali né al mutamento dello stile di vita e dei costumi. Chiuso al pubblico nel 1968, è stato riaperto nel 2017 alla soglia dei cinquant’anni dalla chiusura.

Le visite, a pagamento, a posti limitati e su prenotazione, saranno organizzate quest’anno anche in una nuova versione che al tradizionale percorso di osservazione delle bellezze architettoniche del complesso alberghiero proporrà un focus anche sui contenuti teatralizzati del luogo. Il Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori è stato il set del film “Suspiria” (2018) di Luca Guadagnino, remake dell’omonimo classico horror del grande Dario Argento. Traendo ispirazione da quest’aura di cultura, questa innovativa tipologia di visita è realizzata in collaborazione con i giovani attori di Karakorum Teatro che intratterranno i visitatori con lo spettacolo teatrale itinerante e interattivo “C’era una volta un re: storia del Grand Hotel che prima sapeva volare”. La pièce, di e con Stefano Beghi e Matteo Sanna, intende coinvolgere gli spettatori e motivarli a riscoprire, apprezzare e mai più dimenticare il fascino nascosto del complesso alberghiero: un luogo abbandonato e bistrattato, ma ancora in grado di ammaliare chi lo visita.

I prossimi appuntamenti sono previsti per: 12 maggio, 9 giugno, 6 e 7 luglio. Altre date (ancora in fase di definizione) sono previste per i mesi di settembre e ottobre.

Here we come to the middle of this 2019. We turned the calendar page and, all of a sudden, we ended up in June, with the summer knocking on our door. Why not celebrate this event, pleasing as not unexpected, with a nice trip in our green province?

After the success of the previous opening, the group FAI Giovani Varese reopens the doors of the Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori for a series of new appointments between April and October 2019. Indeed, the Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori, a masterpiece in Art Nouveau style, by the Milanese architect Giuseppe Sommaruga, continues to catch the interest of people from Varese and not only, thanks to its mysterious charm.

On the top of the mountain Tre Croci, the Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori looks from above the city of Varese and its lake since 1912. Built by decision of the S.A.G.A.V. (Anonymous Company Grand Hotel in Varese), the location of the hotel testifies to the relevance of Varese among the tourist destinations of the time. However, the passing of time was merciless with this luxury hotel, which was unable to resist unharmed the two World Wars, nor the change in lifestyle and customs. Closed to the public in 1968, it was reopened in 2017, at the threshold of 50 years from its closure.

The visits, for a fee and on reservation, will be organized this year in a brand new version. In addition to the traditional observation path of the architectural beauties of the hotel, the organisers will also propose a new kind of tour with some theatrical contents referring to the place. The hotel was the set of the film “Suspiria” (2018) by Luca Guadagnino, a remake of the homonymous classic horror movie by Dario Argento. Drawing inspiration from this aura of culture, the innovative typology of visit is realized in collaboration with the young actors of the Karakorum Teatro, who will entertain the visitors with the itinerant and interactive theatrical play “C’era una volta un re: storia del Grand Hotel che prima sapeva volare”. The pièce, by and with Stefano Beghi and Matteo Sanna, intends to involve its audience and motivate them to rediscover, appreciate, and never forget again the hidden charm of this hotel: an abandoned and ill-treated place, still able to mesmerize those who visit it.

The next appointments are scheduled for: May 12, June 9, July 6 and 7. Other dates, that are still to be defined, are planned in September and October.
